Creating a Coupon or Deal

Creating a Coupon or Deal

Check eligibility

Not all vendors or products are eligible for promotions. You must:
  • Have an active Kapsule vendor account in good standing
  • Maintain on-time dispatch and positive feedback rates
  • Ensure your products are not in restricted categories (e.g., dangerous goods, age-restricted items, or non-returnable categories such as hygiene products)

Alert
Vendors with account holds or repeated policy violations may be restricted from offering coupons until issues are resolved.

Decide on the type of promotion

Kapsule supports several promotion formats:
  • Percentage discounts – e.g., 10% off all orders over $50
  • Fixed amount discounts – e.g., $5 off a specific product
  • Buy-More-Save-More – tiered discounts to encourage larger baskets
  • Free shipping deals – covering delivery costs for the buyer

Idea
Match your coupon type to your business goals. For example, use free shipping to attract first-time buyers, or tiered discounts to move bulk stock.

Configure your coupon in the Vendor Portal

  1. Log in to your Kapsule Vendor Dashboard

  2. Go to Marketing > Coupons

  3. Select Add New Coupon

  4. Enter details:

    • Coupon Title

    • Discount type (percentage, fixed, shipping)

    • Amount or value

    • Start and end dates

    • Eligible products or categories

    • Minimum basket value (if applicable)

  5. Review and confirm

Info
Always double-check that the correct products and dates are selected. Once a coupon is live, it may be applied immediately by buyers.

Review restrictions

  • Coupons cannot stack with other automatic discounts
  • Coupons must be clearly described and not misleading
  • Expired coupons must be deactivated promptly
  • Vendors cannot restrict coupons to individual customers without approval

Warning
Misuse of coupons (e.g., creating “phantom discounts” by raising prices before applying a coupon) is strictly prohibited and may lead to account suspension.

Track and optimise performance

  • Use the Coupon Reports tab in your Vendor Dashboard to track redemptions and sales uplift
  • Identify which products perform best with promotions
  • Adjust future campaigns based on data insights

Quote
“Coupons are most effective when they create genuine value for buyers while supporting your long-term sales strategy.”

FAQs

1. Can I run multiple coupons at the same time?

Yes, but only one coupon will apply per order. Kapsule prevents “double-stacking” to avoid confusion.

2. Are digital or virtual products eligible for coupons?

Only if they meet Kapsule’s digital product guidelines. Some categories may be excluded.

3. What happens if I need to cancel a coupon early?

You can deactivate it from your Vendor Dashboard. Buyers who already used it will still receive the discount.

4. Can I limit coupons to certain regions or shipping zones?

Yes. When creating the coupon, you can set eligibility rules based on region.

5. Are there fees for creating coupons?

No additional fees apply. Standard selling fees and commissions remain in place.
