Deal Events & Seasonal Calendars

Deal Events & Seasonal Calendars

What are deal events?

Deal events are promotional campaigns run by Kapsule across the platform. They may include:
  • Marketplace-wide discount events (e.g., Summer Sale, End-of-Year Clearance)
  • Seasonal and holiday events (e.g., Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)
  • Special focus events (e.g., Eco-Friendly Week, Back-to-School, Small Business Month)
Kapsule promotes these events through home page features, email campaigns, and social media, giving participating vendors a much wider reach.

Idea
Use deal events not only to drive sales but also to showcase new products to a wider audience.

Alert
Missing key seasonal dates could mean missed revenue opportunities and less visibility compared to competitors.

How to Prepare for Deal Events

  1. Plan early

    • Check the seasonal calendar at least 2–3 months in advance

    • Ensure stock levels are sufficient

    • Consider bundling products or creating themed listings

  2. Submit your deals

    • Go to Vendor Dashboard > Marketing > Deal Events

    • Select the event you wish to join

    • Add eligible products, discount levels, and start/end dates

  3. Meet requirements

    • Ensure your products comply with Kapsule’s policies

    • Discounts must be genuine (no inflating prices before applying discounts)

    • Listings must be active, in stock, and dispatchable within standard timelines

  4. Maximise visibility

    • Update product titles and descriptions to highlight seasonal relevance

    • Use high-quality images with seasonal context if appropriate

    • Promote your participation via your own channels (social media, email lists)

Warning
Failure to dispatch on time or misleading pricing during deal events may result in removal from the event and impact your vendor rating.

Best Practices for Seasonal Promotions

  • Bundle offers: Pair related products (e.g., candle + gift set for Mother’s Day)
  • Highlight urgency: Use limited-time coupons and stock messaging
  • Track performance: Review your sales uplift post-event and adjust for next year
  • Stay flexible: Be prepared for Kapsule to introduce new themed events in response to buyer demand

Quote
“Seasonal promotions aren’t just about discounts—they’re about meeting buyers where they already plan to shop.”

FAQs

1. How will I know about upcoming deal events?

Kapsule will notify vendors via the Vendor Dashboard and email. You’ll also find an updated event calendar under Marketing Tools.

2. Can I create my own seasonal promotions outside Kapsule events?

Yes. You may run independent coupons or deals at any time, as long as they comply with marketplace rules.

3. Are all products eligible for seasonal events?

Not always. Some restricted categories (e.g., hygiene or age-restricted products) may be excluded. Eligibility requirements are listed for each event.

4. What happens if my stock runs out mid-event?

The product will be removed from the event but your listing remains active. Maintaining sufficient stock is strongly recommended.

5. Do seasonal events cost extra to join?

No additional fees apply. Standard commissions and fees still apply on sales.
