Prohibited Marketing

Prohibited Marketing

What counts as prohibited marketing?

  1. Spam communications

    • Sending unsolicited or irrelevant promotional messages to customers.

    • Overuse of keywords, hashtags, or misleading tags designed to manipulate search results.

Warning
Messages that overwhelm customers or trick search visibility are treated as spam.

  1. Off-platform solicitation

    • Encouraging customers to complete transactions outside Kapsule (e.g., “Contact me directly to avoid fees”).

    • Sharing personal emails, phone numbers, or external payment links in listings, order messages, or reviews.

    • Promoting other marketplaces, websites, or apps as alternatives to Kapsule.

  2. Inappropriate promotional content

    • Fake reviews, inflated ratings, or incentivising reviews with rewards.

    • Misleading advertising or “bait-and-switch” tactics.

    • Using unauthorised brand names, logos, or copyrighted content in marketing.

Info
Any marketing activity that takes the customer away from Kapsule or breaches honesty rules is prohibited.

Examples of prohibited behaviour

  • Placing “For cheaper prices, visit mywebsite.com” in a product description.
  • Adding external social media handles or phone numbers in listing images.
  • Sending bulk messages to customers with unrelated promotions.
  • Offering a discount in exchange for a positive review.

Staying compliant

To promote your store effectively while staying within policy:
  • Use Kapsule’s built-in promotions (e.g., coupons, deals, seasonal campaigns).
  • Share your Kapsule store link on external channels such as social media or email newsletters.
  • Respond to customers through Kapsule’s official messaging system only.
  • Keep promotional content relevant, accurate, and free from false claims.

Idea
Focus on building a trustworthy brand presence within Kapsule — strong listings, good reviews, and consistent service are the best long-term marketing tools.
