Restricted products (special conditions apply)

Some product categories are allowed but subject to strict conditions. Vendors must meet all requirements before listing:

  1. Health & beauty products

    • Must comply with local safety regulations and labelling laws.

    • No misleading claims (e.g., “cures all diseases”).

  2. Food & beverages

    • Must have clear expiry dates and storage instructions.

    • Homemade food items may require health certifications.

  3. Alcohol

    • Only permitted where legally allowed.

    • Age restrictions must be clearly stated and verified.

  4. Cosmetics and personal care

    • Must include full ingredient lists.

    • Products cannot contain banned substances.

  5. Electronics

    • Must meet electrical safety standards.

    • Counterfeit or replica electronics are not permitted.

  6. Children’s products

    • Must be tested for safety (e.g., toys meeting choking hazard standards).

    • No unsafe materials such as lead paint.

Info
Restricted items may be delisted if certification or proof of compliance cannot be provided upon request.

Examples of high-risk categories

To help clarify, here are some items often flagged by compliance checks:
  • Supplements making unverified medical claims.
  • Safety equipment (e.g., helmets, car seats).
  • Batteries without proper certification.
  • Cosmetics with missing ingredient labels.

Idea
Before listing, ask yourself: “Would I feel confident explaining this product’s safety and legality to a regulator?” If not, it likely falls under prohibited or restricted categories.

Steps to ensure compliance

  1. Review Kapsule’s product guidelines before creating any listing.
  1. Verify if your product requires certification (e.g., electrical, food safety).
  1. Ensure titles, descriptions, and images accurately represent the product.
  1. Avoid exaggerating health, safety, or performance claims.
  1. Keep compliance documents (e.g., certificates, licences) ready in case Kapsule requests them.

Alert
Failure to comply with prohibited or restricted product rules can result in immediate listing removal, account suspension, and potential legal action.
