Creating a Subscription Product

Creating a Subscription Product

A subscription product allows customers to pay on a recurring basis (weekly, monthly, or yearly) for ongoing access to your product or service. This is ideal for items such as food boxes, memberships, digital services, or any regularly delivered product.

There are two types of subscription products you can create:

  • Simple Subscription – one recurring price for a single product (e.g., $20 per month for a coffee subscription).

  • Variable Subscription – multiple options with different prices (e.g., $25/month for Small, $30/month for Large).

InfoSubscriptions encourage customer loyalty and provide predictable, recurring revenue for your business.

Create a New Subscription Product

  • Log in to your Vendor Dashboard

  • Go to Products > Add New Product

  • Select Simple Subscription or Variable Subscription from the product type dropdown

Add Basic Details

  • Enter your product name (e.g., “Monthly Coffee Subscription”)

  • Write a clear description explaining what is included in the subscription

  • Upload general product images that represent your product

Set Subscription Options

Using the subscription fields (as shown in the screenshot):

  • Price – the recurring amount customers pay (e.g., $20 every month)

  • Billing Interval – choose how often payments occur (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)

  • Sale Price – optional discounted subscription price

  • Subscription Expiry – select how long the subscription runs (e.g., 12 months) or leave as “Do not stop until cancelled”

  • Sign-up Fee – optional one-time fee charged at the start of the subscription

  • Free Trial – allow customers to try before committing (e.g., 7 days free)

Idea
Free trials can boost sign-ups, but make sure your product supports the value of trial use.

Configure Variable Subscription (Optional)

If you select Variable Subscription:

  • Add Attributes (e.g., Size, Quantity, Plan Type)

  • Mark them as Used for Variations

  • Under the Variations tab, create each subscription plan with its own:

    • Price and sale price

    • Billing interval (can differ per variation)

    • SKU and stock level

    • Variation image (optional)

Notes
Each variation can have its own price and billing cycle, allowing flexibility in your offerings.

Save & Publish

  • Double-check all subscription details

  • Click Save Changes

  • Publish your subscription product

  • Preview your listing to ensure customers can see the subscription terms clearly

Quote
“Clear subscription terms reduce confusion and increase trust, leading to higher customer retention.”
